Cette journée d’études doit participer à la mise en place d’un programme de recherche franco-américain permettant d’instituer un dialogue fécond entre les modes de traitement philosophiques de la question de l’identité et de la constitution du soi proposés en France et aux Etats-Unis, afin de tirer parti de leur confrontation pour dépasser certaines limites inhérentes à leurs approches respectives.
